Getting from the airport to Las Terrenas, or back for your flight, is a trip worth arranging in advance. Tell us the airport, your flight and your luggage: our team looks for an available carrier and replies on WhatsApp. Sending a request is not a booking.

How an airport transfer works

A transfer is a ride agreed in advance between an airport and your accommodation in Las Terrenas, or the other way round, in a private vehicle with a driver: the price, pick-up time and type of vehicle are settled before you travel, not outside the terminal. You can send us a request for six airports, each with its own route page:

Las Américas, Santo Domingo (SDQ)

Punta Cana (PUJ)

Puerto Plata, Gregorio Luperón (POP)

Santiago, Cibao (STI)

La Isabela, El Higüero, Santo Domingo (JBQ)

Which airport is closest?

If you can choose your flight, El Catey is the airport in Samaná province: according to its operator, Aerodom, it is 23 km from Las Terrenas (without saying whether that is by road), and the official tourism website puts the drive at about 30 minutes. From the other five the road trip is much longer, with no reliable published journey times, so the carrier gives you an estimate when confirming.

What to put in your request

Only your WhatsApp number is required, but an accurate price depends on the details:

airport, arrival date and time (or the time of your departing flight);

flight number, so the driver can allow for a delay;

address or area of your accommodation: town centre, Las Ballenas, Playa Bonita, Cosón, El Portillo…;

number of adults and children, with the children's ages, and whether you need a child seat or booster;

suitcases, surfboards or kites, bikes, a wheelchair;

whether you also need the return trip.

Our team looks for an available carrier and replies on WhatsApp about price and availability; sending a request is not a booking. We reply during the team's working hours and cannot guarantee an immediate pick-up; in high season (December to April, according to the official tourism website), get in touch early.

Prices: what we know and what we don't

We have not found any official published fares for these transfers. The ones shown on our route pages come from carriers or public sources and state their date and unit:

per vehicle: one amount for the whole group, within the vehicle's capacity;

per person: the amount is multiplied by the number of passengers.

A per-person price is never shown as a per-vehicle price. Also ask whether tolls, waiting time for a late flight and bulky luggage are included, and which currency you pay in (dollars or pesos).

Travelling with children

According to INTRANT, article 69 of Law 63-17 (2017) requires children up to 12 to ride in the back seats: in a child seat up to age 6 and on a booster from 6 to 12. The source does not say how this applies to taxis and transfers, and we cannot know in advance which vehicles carry a child seat, so ask for one in your request. Checked on 4 October 2026; verify the rule before you travel, as it may change.

Staying safe on arrival

Only get into the confirmed vehicle: the driver's name and the vehicle should match what was agreed.

Agree the total price before leaving and never pay a stranger in advance.

In an emergency, call 911: this website is not an emergency service.

If something does not match, you can report a carrier.
