Terms of use
<p>Version in force since 4 October 2026.</p>
<p>These terms govern the use of the site terrenastaxi.com (“the site”), operated by THERD SRL (“we”). By using the site, you accept them; if you do not agree, please do not use it.</p>
<h2>1. What Terrenas Taxi is</h2>
<ul>
<li>Terrenas Taxi is a platform for transport requests in Las Terrenas and for getting there, operated by THERD SRL.</li>
<li><strong>We are not a carrier</strong> and no booking is concluded on the site.</li>
<li>The transport contract, the price and the conditions are agreed between you and the carrier. When an offer carries the “Terrenas Taxi service” label, the service is provided directly by THERD SRL, which is then your contracting party.</li>
</ul>
<h2>2. Requests</h2>
<ul>
<li>Only your WhatsApp number is required. There is no account and no online payment.</li>
<li>A request is not a confirmed booking: it does not bind you or any carrier.</li>
<li>Our team contacts you on WhatsApp during its working hours. We do not guarantee an immediate reply or pick-up.</li>
<li>We only share your request with a carrier with your agreement (optional box or agreement given on WhatsApp), and only with the information the ride requires.</li>
<li>A ride is only agreed once you accept a proposal and the carrier confirms it.</li>
</ul>
<h2>3. Information shown</h2>
<ul>
<li>Fares, timetables and conditions come from public sources or from carriers, and are shown with their date and unit (per vehicle, per person, per hour or per day).</li>
<li>They may be out of date: a fare not checked for 7 days is labelled “To be reconfirmed” and, after 30 days, it is removed from comparisons.</li>
<li>The amount shown is neither a quote nor a firm offer, and availability is never guaranteed. Currency conversions are indicative.</li>
<li>We do not make up data: when information is missing, we say so (“On request”, “to be confirmed”).</li>
<li>Images are generic illustrations, except those identified as carrier photos.</li>
<li>If you spot an error, tell us through the <a href="/en/contact/" rel="noopener">contact form</a>.</li>
</ul>
<h2>4. Independent carriers</h2>
<ul>
<li>The carriers listed are independent businesses or professionals. They are not employees of THERD SRL or platform partners, unless their listing carries the “Platform partner” label.</li>
<li>Each carrier is responsible for its service, its vehicles and drivers, and for complying with the rules that apply to its activity.</li>
<li>The check we carry out before publishing a listing concerns the information published. It does not certify licences, insurance or service quality, and being listed on the site is not a recommendation.</li>
</ul>
<h2>5. Sponsored spots</h2>
<p>Spots paid for by a carrier are always labelled “Sponsored”, are shown separately and never change the real order of the lists, which are sorted by price within each unit.</p>
<h2>6. Your obligations</h2>
<p>You agree to:</p>
<ul>
<li>give accurate information and a WhatsApp number that belongs to you or that you are allowed to use;</li>
<li>use the site lawfully;</li>
<li>not send false, repeated or automated requests, or spam;</li>
<li>not extract data from the site with automated tools or try to get around its security measures.</li>
</ul>
<p>We may decline to act on submissions that break these rules and block abuse.</p>
<h2>7. Safety and emergencies</h2>
<p>The site is not an emergency service and its forms are not handled in real time. In case of an accident or immediate danger, call 911. Agree on the price before getting in the vehicle, do not pay a stranger in advance and check that the vehicle matches the one announced.</p>
<h2>8. Reports</h2>
<p>You can report a problem with a carrier on the <a href="/en/report-a-carrier/" rel="noopener">report a carrier</a> page. We review every report and may contact the carrier, correct, suspend or remove its listing. A report does not replace a complaint to the authorities.</p>
<h2>9. Carrier registration</h2>
<ul>
<li>Registration is free and the listing is published after a check by our team. We may refuse, suspend or remove a listing that is inaccurate, incomplete or contrary to these terms.</li>
<li>We publish the company or trade name, services, routes, vehicles and capacities, languages, fares and conditions, and approved photos. We never publish the phone number, WhatsApp, email, website, social media, exact address, plates or the full name of an independent driver.</li>
<li>No request is guaranteed. Requests are offered manually, and only with the client's agreement.</li>
<li>The carrier guarantees that its information is accurate and that it owns the rights to the photos it sends, whose publication it authorises.</li>
<li>The carrier may ask at any time for its listing to be corrected or removed.</li>
</ul>
<h2>10. Intellectual property</h2>
<p>The site's texts and original illustrations are protected and may not be reproduced without permission, except where the law allows it. You are free to share links to its pages. Fonts are used under the SIL Open Font License. Carriers' names, trademarks and photos belong to their owners.</p>
<h2>11. Liability</h2>
<p>Within the limits allowed by law:</p>
<ul>
<li>we take reasonable care to keep information accurate, but it may contain errors or have changed;</li>
<li>we are not a party to the transport contract with an independent carrier and are not liable for its performance (punctuality, condition of the vehicle, behaviour, price charged);</li>
<li>we do not guarantee that the site will work without interruption or error.</li>
</ul>
<p>We are liable for our own obligations, in particular when we provide a “Terrenas Taxi service”. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability where the law does not allow it, or the rights you have under consumer protection rules.</p>
<h2>12. Personal data</h2>
<p>How we use your data is explained in our <a href="/en/privacy/" rel="noopener">privacy policy</a>.</p>
<h2>13. Changes</h2>
<p>We may change these terms. The terms published on this page when you use the site apply; a request already sent remains governed by the terms in force on the date it was sent.</p>
<h2>14. Governing law and consumers</h2>
<p>These terms are governed by the laws of the Dominican Republic, including, if you are a consumer, consumer protection rules, in particular Law No. 358-05 on the protection of consumer or user rights. This choice does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory rules of your country of residence where they apply.</p>
<p>If there is a problem, please write to us first: we will look for an amicable solution. Failing agreement, the dispute may be brought before the competent courts of the Dominican Republic, without prejudice to mandatory rules allowing a consumer to go to the courts where they live.</p>
