<h2>The road</h2>
<p>According to the official tourism website, Route 7 (the Santo Domingo–Samaná highway) links the capital with the Samaná peninsula, and the Boulevard Turístico del Atlántico (Route 133) leads on towards Las Terrenas along the coast. Tolls on the Autopista del Nordeste are run by the Fideicomiso RD Vial.</p>

<p>Checked on 4 October 2026; rates may change. For example, according to the newspaper El Caribe, the Marbella station went from RD$60 to RD$100 on 15 January 2025. No official source confirms exactly which stations a trip to Las Terrenas goes through, particularly El Catey, which is why we do not add these amounts up. Ask the carrier whether their price includes tolls.</p>
<h2>How long does it take?</h2>
<p>Published sources disagree on both the journey time and the distance between Santo Domingo and Las Terrenas, so we do not give a figure. The actual time also depends on where you start in the city, traffic and stops: the carrier gives you an estimate when confirming.</p>
